The Rescues are one of my new listening pleasures. I went and saw them almost 2 weeks ago at Ram’s Head in Annapolis. This group has such a refreshing sound. Their music is hard to pin point. Rock/Pop I guess would be the best way to descr
ibe them. They have such great harmony. They kind of remind me of Fleetwood Mac and Little Big Town with the way their voices blend together. They are fun to watch and are interactive with the audience which is always nice. I was a fan of most of the members with their solo acts, Gabriel Mann, Kyler England and Adrianne before I realized that they formed a group and then I was introduced to Rob Giles. They just finished their east coast tour last night in VA. They are all singer/songwriters in their own right but together they have really a smooth blend.
They are in the process of signing a record deal so their new music won’t be out until early next year, though you can listen to it here. Here is The Rescues myspace page if you would like to go to the individual artist webpages to hear their music.
I also like the poster they had on tour. The bird is created by the name of their songs. What an interesting way to put out the name of their songs at the same time drawing the bird which is flying free.
That night there were two opening acts which were a nice surprise also. I had not heard of either of them. One band was AM what a great retro sound. At times I thought I was listening to the Doors or I was back in the late 60's early 70's. The percussion was out standing. Yes they also had an organ which you don't hear much these days. They were traveling with The Rescues for most of their tour I believe.
The opener was Ellen Cherry, who has a great guitar sound. It was just one other guitar player with her. I like the songs with just acoustic guitars and singing. She is from the area actually she wrote that Baltimore song on the commercial for WBFF. She is someone I would go see again.
Ram's Head in Annapolis is a great place to see a show. It isn't that big and really no bad seats in the place. I would highly recommand it.

Thanks for sharing, I'll definitely have to give them a listen...and yeah the type art logo is pretty neat.
